Use a sound check carefully

These notes describe the current service and its limits in plain language.

Advisory information only

WrenchEar provides an initial, automated interpretation of a sound recording. Any possible causes are not confirmed faults. A result is not a diagnosis, repair instruction, or substitute for inspection by a qualified mechanic, and a recording cannot establish every condition of a vehicle.

Safe recording and use

Park safely before making a live recording. You may upload an existing recording, but do not use WrenchEar while driving or create a risky test to capture a sound. If a vehicle may be unsafe to operate, stop safely and seek qualified inspection or roadside help instead of relying on an app result.

Recordings and other media

You are responsible for having permission to submit recordings and the vehicle context you provide. Do not upload media you are not authorized to share. Current handling of recordings and unresolved access questions are described on the Privacy page.

Mechanic-ready reports

Creating a mechanic-ready report requires a signed-in account and a completed report purchase. The share URL gives anyone who holds it access to the report and a copied recording. Share that URL only with people you intend to receive the case.
